Wednesday 17 March

Top of the beautiful bloody morning to ya! I designed this cup in October, as I was very excited to do it. To those fans of Irish breakfast tea, you’ll recognize the label as an imitation of Barry’s. I was first introduced to Barry’s when I was in high school and a friend returned from Ireland with an entire box for me. To be honest I was not a fan of the beginning, finding it too strong and bitter, but as I got used to it, it began to be a go to. I won’t totally betray my Tetley roots, but I can’t deny sometimes I like to mix it up.

And although I didn’t have the classic corned beef and cabbage with Irish soda bread for dinner, which to be honest I was a little bummed about, I had some beef pho instead. Closest special dish I could find/wanted. And as the weather is still very very cold, some pho soup in lockdown was just what I needed. But if you did have the traditional mash, I raise a cup of Irish to ya.
