The official image of the Blog. I knew I needed a main image, but most of the subsequent art is themed after this one- a to-go cup, or “da portare via”, as my four months in Italy taught me.
As for the design, purple for UCL, as the school colours, and the laurel leaves for my impending Masters Degree and academic achievement (writing that really makes the imposter syndrome real). The intervening floral pattern comes from the Cat Jack Sparrow coaster bandana, since I got to keep the tea accessories in the mix.
The steam is an interesting choice though. A friend, after telling them about my idea, and sharing previous art, saw a piece I did probably five years ago that had a cup and steam in the middle of a quote, and they thought that I should include a similar design. Taking their advice seems to have worked out very well, and now I’m using it as a common addition through other themed cups.
