Wednesday 24 September

Still awaiting my tea pot (delayed in the mail) but I thought I’d share a tea accessory that is very important to any avid tea drinker.

As a child, I wasn’t fussed with a coaster- it seemed like it belonged in a bygone age of my great-grandparents who either crocheted their own (Canadians, eh?), or had a complete set of four with artistic drawings of animals on them. After my mum yelling at me quite a few times for not using the coasters though, I have finally learned to be respectfully of wooden side tables, and not make swirls of stains.

Although I’m pretty sure that my university provided accommodation desk is not actually wood, I am making myself use my coaster so I can have good habits for when I have my own place. This coaster, usually hidden by the large tea cups I have, is one of my favourite home items, mixing my love of tea, with my favourite live-action Disney movie, Pirates of the Caribbean.

But why is the rum gone?

Jack Sparrow; Pirates of the Caribbean

This translates more along the lines of “why is the tea gone?” after I finish the first cauldron of tea for the day. That’s why the pot is coming- for even more cauldrons.

And yes, I am a history student, I know what happens to the body without vitamin C, so I’m filling my grocery orders with clementines and bell peppers.
