Thursday 8 October
For all those who have friends all around this slightly messed up world, this is the post for you. As someone who has had their fair share of care packages from teachers, nurses, friends, adopted aunts, since I’ve been living away from home for the past eight years, it was a great surprise to get a little ‘blast from the past’ in the mail.

This little chocolate bar comes from an area called the Berkshires in Western Massachussetts. The most beautiful area in the Fall, this chocolate bar was phenomenal I had to pace myself with it (totally not successful.) Shout out to former high school teachers that become great friends (even if you still call them by their last name…) Shout out to people who you can stay friends with for almost a decade. And shout out to locally produced goods- whether it be the Berkshires chocolate or apple cider donuts, or California marinated artichokes, or little cards from your favourite store in Atlanta, any blast from the past is good. Also finding a tea bag you stole from a fancy alumnae event in undergrad in your purse and using that for your tea is a great moment too. So maybe reach out to an old pal this week- it’ll bring a smile to their face, and then yours with the reply- we all need all the smiles we can get this year.
