The Royal Academy of Art. Hmmmm, what to say about this place- it’s right across from Fortnum and Mason and Green Park, so its very easy to get to and being in Central London, you can check off other monuments and tourism things for the average visitor. So the museum is tucked away from the street, which magically becomes quiet when you walk up to it.

As this is an art school, there is art that is of course unknown and some other strange pieces. A few copies, some of which I’ve seen the originals in person, in Italy. For example, I started laughing at this Last Supper copy, which is always an awkward thing in a quiet museum. But these feet- those toes are ridiculously long. And I’m just imaging it as the scene from Parks and Recreation when Ron Swanson breaks the coffee machine, and asks who in the office broke it– ‘lets all argue while Jesus sits calmly’.

I did like a few pieces over all. There were some great new works like, above. As well as some familiar faces like Constable- who I still don’t get how he did it.

So if you’re in London for a short trip, or even for a longer one, I would not recommend adding this to your list. Although free to get into (this American loves that), there are other free museums around the city and the country that are better suited to your visitation. 4/10 would Recc.
