End of mid terms (well, not exactly the middle of the term) means some all night studying because procrastination…. But there’s calm at the end of the storm. A cup of night time tea to get the sleep schedule back to normal.

With higher education comes many new ideas, ways of thinking and learning, and new people to share the experiences. However one that is not new is public speaking. I’ve been taught since high school that “you have to do these presentations to learn public speaking in any job in life.” This was motivational when I first heard it, doing final presentations in every single elective class every semester in high school. In college, the presentations became longer, but the sentiment was still that this was a new concept for colleges. In graduate school, the sentiment became old. Maybe it was because of my ‘all-girls’ and then ‘predominately-women’ education for 7 1/2 years that I was taught at an early age to get used to public speaking. And I have- to the point that being told its a new concept at each step is tedious. So I thank my all-girls education for this early lessons- you prepared me much more than the other lessons. More presentations to come, and they shall never cease.
