Now we’re getting into the swing of things. To quote the fam’s favourite movie- the pots “really tying the room together.” The sheep and the spots have their home at my desk, moving only to the kitchen to be carried on their white plastic pedestal.

Now I will say that having a 6 cup pot is great for my mental tea health, but my arms have never been that strong, so the lipped plate is a necessity once I fill it in the kitchen. For you Americans leaving home for the first time, or the tenth time, having items that you are used to, or to make life easier are essential. This plate comes from Target- which sometimes is hit or miss, but the ‘leaving for college’ section they had in my local target at home made getting non-breakable plates easy and completely affordable. I could have gone through UniKit, which outfits your room when coming from abroad to the UK, but it’s nice to have your own things. This plate, although too big to fit really anywhere and I didn’t think had much use to it, actually is perfect for the pot to sit on and be carried around. And as much as tea will stain it, it cleans really well so far. So Target- well done you.
As for the beautiful masterpiece in the background- you can thank my two very well-organised best friends for me getting that (shout out to the Lame Nerds). I tried a planner in high school but it did not work out and I promptly did not replace it. At this point in my life though, being well-organised for all things, not just academics, is a useful tool- much more useful to learn sooner rather than later. Erin Condren is a planner and stationary website that helps you plan better and cater your things to your own needs. From the outer design to the format of the pages, you can make the book work for you. I will say, I’m still getting used to it and having to remind myself to fill it in and check it, but its so beautiful that I end up using it just to make sure it fulfils its purpose. My only criticism is that the book is quite large for my backpack, but in this digital age with fewer textbooks to bring everywhere, its just a small criticism.
